2563466465_df5c6d297a.jpgFor the past few months we have been traveling back and forth to Oslo to work with Telenor. Here are some images of their offices in Fornebu that i took last week whilst the weather was great. The site used to be the old Oslo airport and the views over the Fjord are stunning…

We’re a sociable lot at tonic, and sometimes after a hard day of website-making, we enjoy nothing more than sitting in the local pub and mulling over the issues of the day.

Discussions of the current state of the economy, the political crisis in Zimbabwe, the plight of the Olympic torch as it makes it’s way to Beijing, who would win if we were to start a tonic fight club, no topic is considered too high-brow.

This time around I brought my camera along to try to catch some of the lively debates in action. However I only seem to have captured…

After all the recent celebrations (and cakes!) in the studio in the past couple of weeks, we’re all feeling a little caked-out. So we’ve designated the studio a cake-free zone.

I give it one day…

Julio’s birthday

Pete Healy’s birthday

Cake free zone

Cake watch update! Three days later…

Cake update

Second update: By Friday it’s descended into something all too familiar

Friday beer

Final update - One week later, the craziness of the cake-free zone is over

Cake free zone - in the bin

When it’s lunchtime, and it’s pouring down with rain, there’s nothing better than staying in the studio and having a marathon multi-player game of Mario Kart…

But then, i would say that, because i won :)

Rain, rain, go away…

Mario Kart!

Haggis

Moira kindly cooked some Haggis for this week’s Beer O’Clock. As well as providing some very tasty food she also provided the following Scottish poem.

A Red, Red Rose, 1974
O my Luve’s like a red, red rose,
That’s newly sprung in June:
O my Luve’s like the melodie,
That’s sweetly play’d in tune.

As fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a’ the seas gang dry.

Till a’ the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi’ the sun;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
While the sands o’ life shall run.

And fare-thee-weel, my only Luve!
And fare-thee-weel, a while!
And I will come again, my Luve,
Tho’ ’twere ten thousand miles.

Timsheet

Every night our studio team diligently email an off the cuff visual reminder to complete our timesheets. Nice one Bridget - this is one of my favourites. Although I’ve not done my timesheet yet so better get back to it.

Here at tonic, beer o’clock has become something of a special event. So much so that ex-intern Seb the German made us a leaving gift of sorts, our very own countdown clock - www.beeroclock.de

However, he never finished it, and when the fateful second would finally strike, signifying the start of the weekend and the opening of the legendary tonic beer fridge… nothing would happen.

After half the company petitioned Seb last week to finish the site, I got a little more than I expected.

Thanks Seb. No, really.

Mario vs. Sonic at the Olympics - or should that be Eirik vs. Dangerous Mike vs. Pete 2.0 vs. Tony at the Olympics.

Unfortunately this video must receive a 12A rating from the BBFC due to the colourful language employed by Pete 2.0, sorry if it offends.

The host

Regrettably, I have agreed to appear on CBBC Beat the Boss - where 3 smart kids are pitted against 3 industry professionals to design an innovative product. What started off as a bit of harmless PR could turn out to be a bit of a shocker as the kids are actually a bit good. Not sure I’ll be able to live it down if the ‘Big Shots’ lose.

I like to think that here at Tonic we’re a hardcore, yet friendly, bunch of fluffy bunnies. Take the recent stint of festivities and festivals, i recon we represented ourselves quite well this fine summer, and i believe some of us still are (Fabs + Gill).

Me i did Sonar i did , and it woz gud. Wasn’t all play however (ok it was), but there was some interesting exhibitions on around the theme of magic and new media. Here’s a little snippet of said magic.

Let’s see you’re magic moments please, that would be very friendly.
